We met in 1986 in San Francisco, dated for several years and ultimately lost touch when Anne went away to college. After many years, Dave found Anne again on Facebook. A simple friend request turned into a love, marriage and the desire to start a family together.

Dave will be a stay-at-home dad. When our child is older, Dave plans to return to school to pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering. Anne truly loves her job in software support and development as an application support manager at Stanford University.

We live in the East Bay - close enough to San Francisco to enjoy all that the city has to offer, yet far enough away to live in a diverse and established neighborhood. From our front window we see: kids playing, dogs being walked, babies passing in strollers and our neighbors gardening. We love hanging out at our local coffee shop, walking our dogs, riding our bikes, and living close to our friends and family. We are only two blocks from a top notch elementary school. Dave looks forward to walking our child to school and being active in many school functions including the PTA, volunteering to build sets for the school play, and helping out in the classroom.

At the most basic level, we are both committed to helping others and being good people who are respectful, courteous, polite, and honest. We are confident that our child will learn by our example and realize the importance of these qualities by watching us live them.

Dave is committed to the environment and recycling. He likes to 'refinish and reface vs. replace' in an effort to lower our ecological footprint. It is very important to both of us to not be wasteful.

Anne really loves that she works for an employer that was founded to promote the public welfare by exercising an influence on behalf of humanity and civilization.

We are very excited about the opportunity to teach our child about life, art, music, and how to make a positive contribution to the community and world. We believe we will be fantastic teachers (Anne even taught in an elementary school as a substitute teacher). We are people with solid morals and ethics who feel that our most important responsibility is to raise a child to have strong character and integrity. We will raise our child to have strength and confidence in themselves – their greatest asset. We want our child to be happy and fulfilled and plan to surround our child with people who love, support and inspire them.

We want you to know that we appreciate and admire you. The decision to pursue open adoption is perhaps the most selfless decision you may ever make. We have absolutely no doubt that becoming parents will be the greatest gift we will ever receive. For this reason, it is very important to us that you have no doubt in our abilities or commitment to you and your baby. Please know that we have a tremendous amount of respect for you.  Should we be the kind of family you are looking for, we are committed to building a lifelong relationship and ensuring that your child will always know how special you are. We hope you follow your heart.
